About Me: |
I graduated Texas Tech University with a Bachelors of Science in Architecture and Bachelors of Interior Design. I worked 9 years straight out of college for McLees, Boggs and Selby Architects in Macon, GA and then relocated to Hillsville, VA and opened my own interior design business Fall of 2012. To quote Nicole Curtis: "I love Old Houses, Old People and Old Dogs". My husband, an Architect for WM2A Architects, and our family live in one of the oldest historic homes in Carroll County Virginia. We love renovating old homes, which we did in our last two homes, both in Georgia and in Texas. I don't believe in designing based on trends, all of my design work is a reflection of the owner. I design for each family individually because ultimately I want them to love where they live and work. I mainly worked on the commercial end of interior design while in Georgia such as medical facilities, higher education buildings and tenant build out. But after moving to Virginia I have worked on commercial projects, new home designs and existing home renovations. Each of the projects I work on stand alone as an original piece. Another interest I have picked up since moving to Virginia is photography. You can see some of my photography work on my Pinterest Page. My husband and I love antiques or anything that has a story. Our home is filled with either pieces or pictures passed down from our family or furniture we have bought at estate sales, auctions or antique stores. If you can repurpose furniture or give it a new lease on life I am all for that. I also love animals. We have a variety of animals on our property that we love having in our lives. God has allowed us the opportunity to live near the Blue Ridge Parkway and give back to the community we call home.
